Final Project Treatment
For my final project, I'm basing my animation off of a joke. The joke is:
Joe took his blind date to the carnival. "What would you like to do first, Kim?" asked Joe.
"I want to get weighed," she said. They walked over to the weight guesser, and he guessed 120 pounds. She got on the scale. It read 117, so she won a prize.
The couple then went on the Ferris wheel. When the ride was over, Joe again asked Kim what she would like to do.
"I want to get weighed," she said.
Since they had been there before, the weight guesser guessed her correct weight, and Joe lost his dollar.
The couple walked around the carnival and again he asked where to next. "I want to get weighed," she responded.
Joe decided Kim was weird and took her home early, dropping her off with a handshake.
Her roommate, Laura, asked her about the blind date, "How'd it go?"
Kim responded, "Oh, Waura, it was wousy."
I'll be using photoshop and after effects. I really want to explore more of the camera that we used in class the other day, but more for movement like in the project Andre showed us before. I have a feeling I will be using more of photoshop than after effects because I still feel more comfortable in that program. I'm thinking about hand drawing a lot of the main characters, scanning them into the computer, and then filling them in in photoshop.

Rotoscope

My sentence for the rotoscope project is "Then he did the only thing he could, he reached for his lightsaber." For my 10 seconds of footage, I have someone on the ground shivering (the sentence before me is discussing ice cream and chattering teeth) and then my person reaches out to the light saber in the distance and as soon as he has it in his grasp he becomes a "powerful jedi." I want to do a looping background of some sort, maybe similar to a Star Wars backdrop (which maybe overly ambitious). I'm going to have my person in regular clothes but as soon as he grabs the light saber which will zoom across the ground to him, he becomes dressed as a Jedi master.
